Est. 1846
Francois Joseph (1816-1886) and Regina Zürcher (1818-1882) Finger, emigrated with their only child, 4-year old Joseph, from Oberentzen, Alsace, France, in 1846. They came with colonist Henri Castro to settle the fourth and last of his colonies, D’Hanis. They acquired land south of D’Hanis on both the Parker and Seco Creeks, believed to be about 20,000 acres. Travis is the seventh generation to ranch on the land, which consists of about 400 acres of the original homestead.
Over the next few months we will add stories and more pictures to this page!
Many of our relatives still own surrounding properties and we have been fortunate to lease them for grazing over the years. We love our land and feel especially privileged for having the chance to take care of such a precious heritage.
